Transmission
Tensioner Project – with modifications as of July
2005

Here you can see the chain slack and also the
wear (inside red circle) caused by the old chain.

Now, i keep thinking
should it work with a cam chain tensioner?
It´s cheap
anyway cause i paid nothing for it.
It seems as i can have a go at it.

Hm, somewhere here it should be…

The hole is 16mm, a Dremel
is absolutely vital in this operation ;-)

The tip of the adjusting bolt hole needed to
come off,
and basically it only held the o-ring…

Looks ok at first….
But how am i going to use the tensioner
from the outside?

Tada!!

With spring, from inside.
Please note this, very important. The pressure
plate of this cam chain tensioner can not be used as
pictured on these pictures. It wears out very quick, sort of melts from the
friction…. Nto strange as it’s no friction plate…
just a pressure plate. Cut the plate with rubber of, and weld a small bendt piece of steel with delrin
instead of the useless plastic, got no pictures of it but I will get some as
soon as I open up the engine… The plate looks about the same as the Pat Sill
design, but without all the extras, just a bendt
steel plate with Delrin on… just remember to weld
before you attach the Delrin…
